Kudos to Gabrielle Union. Kaavia James is wasting no time! At just two weeks old the daughter of actress Gabriella Union and NBA star Dwayne Wade can already check meeting Oprah off her list.
The newborn recently sat in on an interview with her parents which will air on the OWN network on Saturday, December 8.
“We wanna thank @oprah for coming into our home to discuss our new bundle of joy!” the NBA player, 36, captioned a photo of his family with Oprah. “My baby @kaaviajames wore @ackeetreeclothing for her first meeting with Ms.Oprah!”
Union 46, posted a pic of her own of the meet and greet where she, her NBA hubby, and Winfrey smiled at the camera while baby Kaavia was fast asleep in her mother’s arms.

Union broke the news on November 8 via Instagram that she and Wade had welcomed a baby girl via surrogate on November 7. The actress has endured years of infertility and surprised her fans with a bundle of joy of her very own. Union is already a stepmom to Wade’s sons Xavier Zechariah, 5, Zion Malachi Airamis, 11, and Zaire Blessing Dwayne, 16. (He also raises nephew Dahveon Morris, 17.)

And proud papa Wade who is on paternity leave from the NBA celebrated his baby girl’s arrival by tattooing her name on his shoulders this week. His daughter’s name holds special meaning for her mama. Union explained on Instagram the significance of her daughter’s namesake, “My godfather is my uncle James Glass. She is named after him.. and then Union…thats… ya know…me.”
Although the meaning of Union’s daughter’s first name is unclear according to Names.org Kaavia may possibly be from a Sanskrit origin meaning “work of art”.
