During a Friday appearance on Today, mom-of-four Victoria Beckham gushed about family life with husband, former footballer David Beckham, and their sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12, and 5-year-old daughter Harper.
“It is a juggling act constantly,” the Spice Girls star, 42, admitted of their busy life. “I’m lucky that David is the most Fantastic Father and husband, and he’s great. We’re very equal at home, and we’re a really, really good team.”
And it sounds like they’ve got a good balance of fun times and firm boundaries.
“I’m definitely not a pushover, and neither is David. You know, we are strict with the children. They are happy kids, but they’re polite children,” she shared.
“They work hard at school,” she continued. “They know that they have to work hard. Homework has to be done on time. We are constantly checking their grades at school. We’re always at parents’ evening. And the most important question that we always have is: Are they nice kids? And are they well behaved? It’s not about how academic are they. It’s a happy household. There’s music on. We’re singing and dancing.”
Nearly 20 years later, the A-listers are still madly in love with each other.
“I think that he’s my soul mate. We complement each other,” Victoria gushed of her hunky hubby. “He’s the most incredible husband, fantastic father. He inspires me every day. Not just seeing him with the children and how he treats me. It just works. We’re lucky to have each other.”
Will there be another Spice Girls reunion?
“There won’t be a reunion because I think that when we performed at the Olympics, it was so great,” she said. “And that was us, celebrating everything that we had achieved. But I still talk to the other girls. We’re still very close. But I think you need to—you need to know when it’s time to actually say, ‘That was great, we achieved a lot.’ And everybody moves on.”
The singer-turned-designer went on to talk about the launch of VB x Target, a limited collection of apparel and accessories for women, girls, toddlers and babies.
Prices can range between $6-$70 with most items costing less than $40.
“I wanted to work with a retailer that could enable me to reach out to women all around America no matter what their budget, I was really excited because I am often in Target stores with the kids,” she said, adding, “You can just get everything in Target!”
She added: “I have so much fun dressing Harper and can take what I’ve learned from having a daughter and really use that when designing this collection for little girls. I know what they like, I know what’s comfortable for girls, and Harper was really involved in the whole process and she has her collection and she loves wearing it. This collection really makes me smile.”
