: North Delhi Municipal Corporation has proposed the renaming of Ramlila Maidan after former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Civic bodies have proposed naming of the famous Ramlila Maidan after the former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. BJP councillors have sent a proposal for renaming the ground after the late prime minister. But BJP Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari says that there are no plans to change the name of the iconic Ramlila Maidan as Lord Ram is our God and most revered name for Hindus.
North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has proposed that the historic Ramlila Maidan in the national capital should be renamed after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The proposal was under consideration for a long time now. According to some published reports BJP councilors have sent a proposal for renaming the ground after the late prime minister.
Ramlila Maidan has played a very important role in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's life as many of his iconic speeches have been delivered from here. The Ramlila Grounds have witnessed numerous political rallies, meetings, festivals and entertainment events.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been an iconic leader and a true statesman. Tributes have poured in from all quarters and every individual, state, and nation has expressed its own respective gratitude in the best possible way. Jharkhand government has also proposed to rename several places in the state to honour Vajpayee. Not just that Chhattisgarh's new capital of Naya Raipur is set to be renamed Atal Nagar.
