Watching Master of None Season 2 is like eating perfectly cooked pasta, drinking a good wine, and listening to your favorite tunes, in good company, . You could accuse me of unnecessary exaggeration, but the truth is Master of None delivers a fantastic second season.
If you have read my post Master of None Season 1 – Intricacies of Life, you know that I am fan of the show. While my expectations were high, it was easy to fall for the Charming and very Italian opening. Once again Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang deliver laughs and poignant moments touching on themes that are relevant today.
Balancing silly comedy and life lessons
The second season of Master of None is constantly Balancing Silly Comedy and more dramatic undertones. For some the silliness might take them out of the experience, but those moments are rare and contribute to the charm of the show. The new season comes with an emotional upgrade, which never feels tacked on, adding more ingredients to an already flavorful mix.
Season two, brings an Italian flair to the table and it is as delicious as it sounds, perfectly establishing the tone for the rest of the season. The filmmaking process shines through from the very first episode. Black and white episodes, plenty of references to movie classics and the effective use of silence make the new season feel fresh.
Master of None is bolder and more confident
The attention to detail will delight the more demanding viewers among us. The subtle social commentary is a constant presence. In between existential questions, dating adventures or falling in love, there is always time to show or say more.
Master of None comes back with more confidence. It is charming, silly and romantic, a recipe for a great time in my book. A fantastic soundtrack, interesting themes and an engaging story make Master of None a show that you really shouldn’t pass on.
