Refinery29 Inspires

Hosted by presenter and DJ Yinka Bokinni, the Refinery29 series includes discussions on mindfulness, marriage and dating with a range of special guests. The thought provoking interviews are a short 4 minutes but long enough to provide a heavy dose of motivation, Felicity Hayward’s promotion of Self Love in episode 1 being a potent example.

Equality in Film

Aside to this project, Refinery29 have built a strong reputation for promoting opportunities for women in film. Their Shatterbox Anthology initiative consists of a series of 12 short-films, all of which are created, produced and directed by women.

Kristen Stewart and Gabourey Sidibe both contributed productions which were extremely well received. Staying true to the Refinery29 values, the shorts tackle issues surrounding patriarchy and inequality that rarely feature in a disturbingly male-dominated industry.
