Social media is the new battleground for our major international beauty pageants.

Traditional media, while still a major platform, as Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, and in a smaller scale Miss Supranational, are still being broadcast around the world, fans and followers of beauty pageants have found social media sites like Facebook and Instagram as a place to connect and get updates from their favorites.

As a matter of fact, Miss Grand International has utilized Facebook so well that it has now an outstanding 2.5 million fans. It got the third most number of Facebook Likes next to Miss Universe and Miss World, but its fans are the most engaged.

Using a software analyzer, Miss Grand International’s Facebook Page of 2,478,248 million (as of the time that the test was conducted), 23,755 fans are talking about the pageant. That’s 1% of the pageant’s Entire Facebook Community.

Surprisingly, Miss Earth is the second most engaged Facebook page among our major beauty pageants. With 613,952 Facebook likes, Miss Earth got 13,718 people talking about the pageant. That’s nearly 2% of its entire Facebook community.

Coming into third place is Miss Universe. The queen among the pageants in terms of Facebook likes, Miss Universe, has 8,446,485 likes and that translate to 13,467 people talking.

Fourth is Miss Supranational with 5,262 people talking about the pageant, coming from its 988,392 Facebook likes. Fifth is Miss World, which got the second most number of Facebook likes counting at 3,125,809 but only translated to 4,127 people talking.

Last is Miss International, which got both the lowest Facebook likes at 328,061 and people talking at 488.

Data could change once the pageant season has arrived.
