Day 2 of Sony’s “Countdown to E3 2018” promised a release date for an upcoming title, and that is exactly what was delivered. Days Gone will be released on February 22, 2019, revealed via a new trailer.
Two new dangerous animals were revealed in the trailer, mountain lions and infected ravens. A cougar was shown chasing Deacon through the woods and the ravens, called Criers in Days Gone, were shown to attack in a swarm both in a field attempting to smash their way into a car. Cougars and Criers join the ranks of the animal threat alongside previously-revealed bears and wolves.
A new enemy faction was also revealed, called Rest in Piece. The members of this new faction, Rippers, worship the zombie-esque Freakers. Rippers dress and mutilate themselves to look as much like the Freakers as possible. The Rippers idolize the Freakers to such an extreme that if you lure a swarm of Freakers to a Ripper camp, the Rippers won’t even fight back as they’re overrun!
Two new allies also make brief debuts in the new trailer. Alkai Turner is a weapons dealer selling his wares out of a survivor camp run by the other newcomer, former prison matron Ada Tucker.
