Epcot is a massive theme Park which can involve a lot of walking. Not having a plan can mean you can do even more walking by moving aimlessly across the park. Thankfully most mistakes do not mean our vacation is ruined but they can mean we do not enjoy our day as much as we should. These are the Top Epcot Mistakes guests should avoid.

You attempt to do it all in 1 day.

Epcot is a massive theme park with lots of things to see & do. In our opinion you should treat the park as 2 separate theme parks i.e. Future World & World Showcase.

Attempting it all in 1 day will usually lead to failure, tiredness & grumpy kids.

If you have time visit on 2 or even 3 days. This will also make your Fastpass+ strategy easier.

If you only have 1 day consider what are your must-do attractions.

Not having a Fastpass strategy.

There are 3 big attractions in Epcot:

• Frozen Ever After
• Soarin
• Test Track

Disney only lets you pick one of these Group A(also including illuminations) attractions in your initial fastpass selections.This presents a problem to anyone with only 1 day to visit Epcot. For the majority of 1 day visits you might need to consider skipping an attraction.

Frozen remains the most popular of all 3 and is usually the hardest Fastpass to get. However, if you don’t have small children you might consider giving it a miss.

Soarin has recently had a 3rd theatre added which has reduced waits considerably. You will often find Fastpasses available after you have used your first selections.

Test Track has a single rider line. If you are happy not riding together choose this option if you don’t have a Fastpass.

Fastpass selections do fill up fast especially for Frozen. Make sure you know all the booking windows and book as soon as possible.

Not bringing park essentials

Make a list of what you need e.g. camera, phone, autograph book, poncho.

Make sure you don’t forget the sunscreen & a good hat. Plus you will need access to plenty of water.

Pack you bag the night before. Remember to not take too much as you will be carrying it all day.

You can’t access the park Wi-Fi.

Online access is essential in Walt Disney World.

The My Disney Experience App is your essential guide to wait times, maps, show times & a lot more. Plus you can reserve Fastpass+ & making dining reservations on the App.

Don’t even consider entering a Walt Disney World Park in 2018 without access to Wi-Fi.

Not having a break.

Don’t under estimate how much there is to do in Epcot. Plus the Florida heat can be unforgiving. It is easy to burnout if you are not careful.

Make sure you take plenty of time out, drink plenty of water & don’t skip meal breaks.

Thinking Epcot is for adults only

Many people have the impression Epcot is for adults. In fact it is one of our kids favorite parks.

Whilst kids ,will love Turtle Talk and the Seas with Nemo & Friends, the World Showcase is the biggest star for any children with an inquisitive mind. Don’t forget to visit Kidcot at each country.

Not eating in World Showcase

Epcot in the centre for Disney World cuisine. With restaurants from all around the world there is something that will appeal to everyone. However; restaurants do book up and it essential you have booked your reservations in advance.

Plus there are various festivals throughout the year which increase the many food options. Don’t miss the Food & Wine Festival, Flower & Garden Festival or the International Festival of Arts if they are on when you visit.

Wearing new shoes.

Make sure your shoes are worn in and comfortable you will be doing a lot of walking. Epcot is a massive park.

You drank too much

We always recommend drinking plenty of water in Epcot. However; Drinking Round the World is a fantastic fun Disney experience.

Just remember the Florida sun can be unforgiving if you drink a bit too much.

Not staying for the night.

Epcot is even more magical at night but rarely stays open beyond 9pm. Make sure you don’t leave before it gets dark.
