Mekong Delta Day Boat Tour In Vietnam | All You Need To Know

This article is about my journey of Mekong Delta Day Boat Tour In Vietnam| All You Need to Know, and definitely you must be visiting my blog to know more about it. So let’s get started our tour bus from Saigon to Mekong delta in the morning which included a tour guide. Who explained everything to us about and what Mekong delta is all about.

When you are in Saigon the old name for Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam you will see lots of tour or travel agencies where you can visit and talk about the different tours available for you to do.

Cost of Mekong Delta Cruise Tour

It comes around to 20 Dollars which includes the bus, boat, tour guide and food for the whole day.

Places taken on the Tour

  1. Vinh Trang Temple – On the way to Mekong you will be taken to the Vinh Trang Temple in My Tho Province of the delta which is the first stop of the tour. Its a buddhist temple where you will see huge statues of Buddha and monks all the place. It’s a great stop so dont forget to explore the temple around.
  2. Cruise Begins – Next we are taken to the dock where we get on the boat or start our Mekong cruise, in the Mekong River and the tour guide will take you to the island village where you will be shown the lifestyle of the people there. From utensils made of wood to try out the food like dragon fruit with singers and musicians who perform for you.
  3. Bee Farming
Then they take you to the bee farming area which was really amazing as you can hold one the plates which is covered with bees all around it. Scary but one of my friends tried it out, there you can try some local honey or even buy from there. I won’t suggest to buy it from there as the prices during tours are a bit expensive and you can find the same products in the local market of Saigon.
  4. Python on your neck
It’s an all inclusive tour which even includes you carrying a python on your neck, even I tried the same and was scared to the max as it striked twice near my neck and then I immediately asked the tour guide to get it off me.
  5. Row Boats in Mekong Delta
The last but the best experience I can tell you is the Row Boat tour where they take you in the canal of the Mekong Delta. With all your friends and family you ride all the way to an island for your lunch.
  6. Amazing Lunch on the Mekong Tour
The row boat tour ends at the lunch area where you can grab some awesome seafood and other things to eat. Also try the different wines available there, including one which had snakes. I don’t drink but my friends tried and said it was quite strong. There were other animals wine too which were available there. But I don’t know if this makes sense to preserve animals in alcohol comment down below if you know more about such practises.

And that’s how our tour ended we were taken back to the dock we started from and then in the same bus we headed back to Ho Chi Minh City. If you have any doubts or questions in mind you can write it down and I will try to reply promptly.
