Branson Bed and Breakfast | The Branson House

The Branson House

Branson, Missouri always has something to show you. From the hickory-forested slopes of the Ozark Mountains, to shimmering reservoir lakes teeming with aquatic life, and down to the sparkling line-up of theaters and shows illuminating the famous strip of Highway 76, the stars of Branson are constantly on full display. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day of golf, an exciting afternoon of spelunking limestone caves, or an entertaining evening of dining and revue, the settings of southwest Missouri have something in store for everyone. The stage is always set in this corner of the Show Me state, and the best seat in the house is at The Branson House. Situated just off Main Street in the historic downtown and steps away from the bustling waterfront scene of Branson Landing, the Branson House offers visitors quiet and comfortable hospitality in the middle of a vivacious and captivating Midwest scene. It is the perfect Branson Bed and Breakfast.

What to do in Branson – Small Town, Big-City Entertainment

Branson isn’t a large city by a stretch—but it packs a lot of activity into every corner of its town limits. Within walking and driving distance of the Branson House, there’s an absolute cornucopia of entertainment venues to discover, from the exciting to the relaxing to the educational.

Just down the block from your perfect home base, Branson Landing offers up a spread of lakeside dining, shopping, and leisure-time attractions. More than 60 stores, from small boutiques to anchors like the massive Bass Pro Shop, line the main stretch in this tree-lined promenade of open-air shopping. Snacks like frozen daiquiris and salty pretzels are always on hand, and more than a dozen restaurants offer dinner with beautiful water views. Enjoy nightly fountain geyser shows and live music at the water’s edge, or catch a balloon ride near the arcades for a lofty view of the downtown scene.

Museums and attractions run the gamut from the eccentric to the straightforward on the main strip of Highway 76, 10 minutes due west of your bed and breakfast base. Peruse artifacts from the seafloor at the Shipwrecked Treasure Museum, or deep dive into history at the Titanic Museum, where recovered relics are only the tip of the iceberg. Encounter familiar faces of celebrities in still life at the Hollywood Wax Museum, or get lost amidst reflections of your own face in Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors. Oddities and curiosities abound at renowned Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, and the topsy-turvy WonderWorks promises to bend your mind with more than 100 interactive and informative exhibits.

Of course, it’s theaters and shows that Branson is most famous for. Billed as the “live music capital of the universe,” Branson holds nothing back in supporting that lofty title with rousing concerts and dinner shows, and a myriad of other performances to round out the revue.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede leads the charge with its spirited dinner show of equine performers, complete with live bluegrass bands pre-show and galloping overtures throughout. For a live tribute to legends of the stage, there’s no better show than Legends in Concert at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater, where uncanny impersonators put on award-winning performances almost every night, backed by live bands and a multi-million-dollar light and sound system. Up and down the strip on any given evening, you can pop into dozens of venues showcasing live local bands, touring headliners, and an assortment of other productions from dazzling dancing to acrobatic feats to magic and comedy shows—all just an easy drive away from a comfortable night’s sleep at the Branson House.

The Great Outdoors

A stay at the Branson House puts you at the doorstep of one of America’s greatest outdoors areas: the Ozark Mountains. With rolling ridges covered in hickory and oak forests, and dramatic karst formations like waterfalls and sheer escarpments interspersed, hiking and biking throughout the Ozarks rewards active visitors with stunning natural vistas. Due north of town, Busiek State Forest offers 18 miles of trails meandering through the rugged splendor of the northern Ozarks, while Dogwood Canyon Nature Park to the southwest has everything from horseback riding down old logging roads to scenic bike trails and wildlife tram tours.

Lake life lives large in Branson—with expansive reservoirs like Table Rock Lake waiting minutes away and Lake Taneycomo within view of the inn, your maritime leisure time is cut out for you. Cold waters support excellent trout fishing at Lake Taneycomo, and the sprawling Table Rock Lake hosts professional and amateur anglers hoping to hook catfish, bluegill, and oversized largemouth bass. Explore the numerous inlets of the lake by kayak, rent a jet ski for a speedier run across the crystal-clear waters, or just lay back on any of the sandy beaches and soak in the sun.

For a relaxing day on the links, tee off at any of the award-winning courses within an easy drive of the Branson House. Windswept and waterside holes like those at Top of the Rock can provide a feeling of Ozarks-style links play, while the varied elevation of mountain courses like the one at Ledgestone Country Club make for a uniquely challenging round—and incredible views from the tips.

Laying below it all, there’s always the exciting indoor outdoors: Missouri’s extensive cave system, with easily toured grottos like Marvel Cave in Silver Dollar City, and more than 7,000 other known caverns ready for more serious spelunkers.
