Victoria Palace Theatre Seating Plan - Sections Explained

Victoria Palace Theatre Stalls

The Stalls section of the Victoria Palace Theatre offers the best and most unobstructed views of the stage, especially the central portion. Stalls is the least elevated level and the largest section in the theatre, divided by a large central aisle. The front few rows of this section will need you to crane your neck, so it’s best to avoid them. Instead, choose the central seats and you’ll have some truely mezmerizing views. However, the Royal Circle overhang may affect the rear of the Stalls, but not by much.

Victoria Palace Theatre Royal Circle

A majority of seats in the Royal Circle are good value for money. These seats will usually offer a great view of the stage, even though they may be a bit far. For large-scale musicals, the central rows of the Royal Circle may even be ideal. The shallow curve in this section ensures that even seats towards the ends of the rows can have a decent view of the stage. A good rake and the stage height come together beautifully to enhance the experience in this section.

Victoria Palace Theatre Grand Circle

The Grand Circle is the most elevated level of the Victoria Palace Theatre. The best seats of this section are in the middle because a safety rail hinders views from the first few rows while the rear seats are much too far and barely any detail can be seen from there. The back rows are also very budget-friendly, usually.

Which Seats Offer The Best View?

Seats that are towards the centre of the Stalls section usually cost the most money and are premium seats. They also tend to have the best views of the stage. Central seats in the Royal Circle are also considered premium seats and offer a panoramic view of the stage.

Which Seats Offer the Best Value for Money?

Side seats of the Stalls section as well as the Royal Circle section offer good value for money because they are usually not exorbitantly-priced while offering good views of the stage. As the Royal Circle seats are all similarly priced, it is worth it to buy tickets that are close to the middle of the section.

30-Second Takeaway: Victoria Palace Theatre Seating Plan

  • The Victoria Palace Theatre was designed by renowned theatre architect Frank Matcham in 1910 at the behest of theatre owner, manager and impresario Alfred Butt. He purchased the Royal Standard Music Hall, which stood on this site, and demolished it to build the Victoria Palace Theatre.
  • The Victoria Palace Theatre seats 1547 people and has three sections — Stalls, Royal Circle, and Grand Circle.
  • The theatre has a high stage, therefore the first few rows of the Stalls section should be avoided.
  • There is a bar, toilets, and merchandise kiosks on every level of the theatre. An adapted toilet can be found at the rear of the Stalls section.
  • Patrons are not allowed to bring any food or drink purchased elsewhere to the theatre. The bars serve drinks and snacks, but not hot food.

Victoria Palace Theatre Reviews

We went to see ‘Hamilton’ at this theatre. The layout of the theatre means that you get a great view from anywhere in the auditorium. The seats are comfortable and the theatre is very clean and well presented. The Stalls Bar is large but it could do with a few more tables and chairs - the service was good and the staff were friendly and professional.
I had hurt my hip and was walking with a stick and one of the staff saw me joining the queue and immediately offered to take me through a side entrance to avoid the stairs. His customer service skills were excellent and he made me feel like he was concerned that I enjoyed my visit to the theatre. The staff are all clearly very well trained and like their jobs. A great experience. The show was very good as well!

An amazing evening. I am a wheelchair user. We travelled by tube into London. We were met at the door, they were very patient while we were trying to find our e ticket. Then they looked into our bags (security). Jollity all the while. A door person with an American accent took us around the side, clearing people out of the way along the pavement so my wheelchair could be pushed without difficulties. She escorted us to our chairs, asking lots of questions along the way so she could get an idea of my disability and needs. Once I was seated she took my wheelchair to a designated safe space. She looked in on me several times to ensure I was comfortable and if I had any needs. When I did she gave me helpful options. I couldn't have asked for a better service. Higher than 5☆. I hope this feeds back to the management because her service was truly exceptional.
