Take the chill out with Patti's hot toddy of the day

Nothing like a warming drink on a cold winter's night to motivate your mojo and more

Okay if  you read me regularly you know I'm a big fan of wine, especially large, buttery Chardonnays. But I'm always open to suggestion and like to pass them on. So for today's winter warmer to sip by the fire I've picked Drambuie and Monkey Shoulder Whisky 
Drambuie’s Broadford Toddy

1 ½ parts Drambuie
½ part Hudson Manhattan Rye
¼ part St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
3 Dashes Chocolate Bitters
2 Orange wedges
2 lemon wedges
1 small pinch grated nutmeg
4-5 parts Hot Water
(Add Honey to taste)
Garnish clove-studded lemon wheel
In a mixing tin muddle orange and lemon wedges. Add other ingredients minus water. Add ice to tin and shake vigorously. Double-strain into Irish coffee mug and add hot water and honey to taste.

Drambuie is made from a delightful combination of scotch whisky, heather honey, herbs and spices.
Monkey Toddy
1½ Parts Monkey shoulder
2 Bar spoon Sugar/Honey
2½ parts Boiling Water one clove
Add sugar of honey to heat proof glass. Add boiling water and allow to infuse. Now add Monkey Shoulder and stir until sugar/honey is dissolved and cloves infused. Garnish with clove studded lemon wedge.
Monkey Shoulder, the mischievous malt whisky, is made for mixing in great cocktails like Show Me The Monkey.
