Want to know the secret to where to find a bunch of meals for under NT$100 in Taipei?
All you have to do is…
Eat like a uni student
Back in the glory days when I was student at the Chinese Language Division (CLD) at NTU, I made a lofty goal to eat at every local eatery located in the immediate vicinity of my school.
So almost every day, after three hours of intense language study,
I’d reward myself by devouring savouring a “canteen”-style meal at the diners just minutes away from my school and Technology Building MRT Station.
Noodles. Dumplings. BBQ meats. Fried Rice. Braised Pork.
They’re all there, and all for $100 or less.

Easiest way to get to all these cheap eats
As I wrote in my article:
All these restaurants are closest to Technology Building MRT. Turn left and walk south out of the only station exit until you reach the first major intersection: Heping East Road and Fuxing South Road. Cross both those roads to the southwest corner; the alleyways there include Lane 118 and Alleys 2 and 54.
So there you have it, 5 more meals you can add to your “cheap eats in Taipei” list.
