Dear Taipei,
Looking for plans this August in Taipei?
I’ve written about 5 of the best events in Taipei this August this month in my new article for Travelog.
Here’s a brief run down of what to look forward to:
1. Keelung Mid-Summer Ghost Festival
One of Taiwan’s 12 major festivals, the Keelung Mid-Summer Ghost Festival will be a spectacular sight whatever day you go on during the month long celebration.
As a festival steeped in a fascinating, albeit tragic history, I recommend visitors to first read up on the festival’s origins before making their way to Lao Da Gong temple.
2. Summer Swing
Summer Swing is two nights of smooth jazz paired with (complimentary) cocktails. A great idea for a date night if you really want to impress that special someone. Alternatively, a chance to dress with to the 9’s with a couple of friends.
3. Summer Beer & Music Fest
The name says it all- beer and music to make the most of the sweltering summer. The Summer Beer & Music Fest is looking to be a ridiculously popular event, so this is definitely one for people that can survive a crowd!
4. Sneaker Party
For the sneaker fanatics, the Sneaker Party is basically a warehouse sale of top brands. There’s a chance to score some sneaker-related prizes too so it might be worth a look in.
5. Sounds From The River
Sounds From The River is a push for us all to head to the river and enjoy the view and some tunes. Looks like it’ll be a pretty chill event, so it will perfectly suit those who crave a lazy, but social weekend.
For more info, please check out the article– it has all the nitty gritty details!
Enjoy your August!
