G. Kero Pop-Up Store Le Marais

On my way home from meeting a friend for coffee on Monday in the haute Marais, I found a delightful pop-up Shop with the coolest and colorful summer clothes. G. Kero is an artist-based clothing line, and the mix of animated prints of summer with bold colors will have you dreaming about the seashore. The cheerful prints are featured on men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, scarves, shoes, and of course, face masks.

It was dangerous for me to look through the racks of men’s clothing, as I saw a jacket, T-shirt, and button-down shirt that spoke to me and said “Buy me, Buy me! Alas, I resisted temptation, but I still may give in and buy something later.

The real name of the artist behind G. Kero is Marguerite Bartherotte, who grew up, living in a house on sand by the Bay of Arcachon, on Cap Ferret, so the sea had a major influence on her. When Marguerite was studying cartoon art at university, her brother Philippe was in Brazil, couldn’t find a tee-shirt he liked in any of the shops. He asked Marguerite to send him artworks for him to put on a white tee-shirt. She left school to start painting tee-shirts for her friends, and in 2011, she and Philippe created the fashion brand, G. Kero. Tee-shirts are produced in Italy and crafted in a small factory in Portugal. Kate Moss was photographed in a G. Kero tee-shirt, giving the brand a great celebrity endorsement

The G. Kero  pop-up shop is open until July 31, 2020 and if you can’t visit, no worries, they have an online shop with a full selection of their clothing and accessories, and they ship worldwide.
