12/04/2016 - They say that the weather can make or break a visit to the Catlins. I was fortunate enough to be dealt sun and rain on the day I visited and it was still top notch. With lots of sea lions, lighthouses and scenic stops, one day isn't really enough. 2 days would be my recommendation to be able to see all that the Catlins has to offer at a more relaxed pace. My highlights were:
1. Marvelling at the nuggets which characterise Nugget Point (pictured below).
2. Paying a visit to the Lost Gypsy Gallery. (http://www.thelostgypsy.com)
3. Driving along the winding, rural, coastal roads in a race against the setting sun (above).
