I have been slacking recently....I have been busy losing my phone on the ski slopes....but I am finally getting round to posting these photographs of the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Just a hop, skip and a jump away from Downtown Vancouver, Wild Whales Vancouver runs whale watching tours from Granville Island. The season runs from April to September and there is a good chance to see orca pods and also humpback whales, such is the knowledge and understanding of the marine biologists who guide the tours.
Seals bask lazily in the sunlight on floating timber just around the coast from Wreck Beach, Vancouver. Many operators will guarantee a second chance in the unlikely event that no whales are witnessed.
Unfortunately, there were no killer breach shots on this occasion; the orcas I saw were too busy noisily engaged in the hunt of a seal.....but I did get a photograph of this fella kicking back.
