Owing to the ridiculous amounts of snow that fell over last year's winter period, the terrain to the spectacular Panorama Ridge proved impassable and sadly the hike had to be abandoned. We were able to console ourselves with amazing views from the frozen Garibaldi Lake.
The hike started well enough and I was convinced that by June the snow would have melted, however the situation at higher elevations revealed buried signposts in 8 foot plus of snow.
Garibaldi Provincial Park is a hugely beautiful area, located along the Sea to Sky Highway between Vancouver and Whistler. It is named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, an Italian General who also has a biscuit named after him, the Garibaldi biscuit!
The local wildlife were friendly, as always. The Whisky Jack was its usual amenable self.
The Chipmunks also could not wait to make our acquaintance too!
