Vancouver has it all! I took myself on a little walk from my apartment in Downtown Vancouver one Friday off! I had heard about an app called all trails and set out on the Salish Trail to Spanish Banks. I was still a bit of a pauper then and had only recently started working again. That day I had treated myself to a pair of headphones and had renewed my subscription to Spotify so I had the tunes banging as I ambled along. I don't even know if I definitely went the right route but I was trying to follow this

West Vancouver

I had such a great day, entertaining myself all day with view of the cargo ships in English Bay as I wandered past Kitsilano to Jericho Beach. The walk offered splendid view of West Vancouver and there were little beach cafes along the way (not the trendy kind) selling Victory coffee (see Orwell's 1984). There was also some massive tree trunks on the beach that had been sculptured by some artist into a very rustic chez lounge and a three piece suite.

Downtown Vancouver

As I wandered further away from the city, there was a great vista of Downtown Vancouver against the backdrop of Grouse Mountain and maybe Cypress or Seymour. (I am still learning my geography). And of course there was a jogger keeping fit.

Stanley Park

The large swathe of trees to the right of this shot is Stanley Park. As I approached the Pacific Spirit Regional Park, I saw the most dogs I have ever seen, all having the time of their lives. When I got to the park, I was very aware of being a bit lost so of course cut into the forest onto the trail there. I constantly had bears on the brain but only saw a little dog out on a walk. I was ready to go home when I found myself at the University of British Columbia and hailed a bus back to Downtown. All in all, a great, easy walk that took a good few hours and took me to beachy/jungle paradise!
