Next on the itinerary along the Sea to Sky Highway is the Squamish Gondola aka the Sea to Sky Gondola. I begrudgingly paid the $40 to ride the gondola even though I expected to be unimpressed by what was clearly a tourist trap however I stand corrected. Well, the gondola clearly is a tourist trap but there is a whole other world up there in the mountains and even better, one that is accessible for old and young. A perfect spot for photographing some dramatic landscapes
There are a range of short hikes up there and an impressively long suspension bridge (for those with the testicular fortitude!) hanging over Garibaldi Provincial Park.
A perfect spot for a picnic!
This was the British Columbia that I swapped swampy Manchester for! At only a 45 minute drive, the peaks are only a stone's throw away from Vancouver.
The weather changes like the wind!
One minute thick cloud comes rolling in and the next minute you are treated to sunny views of Howe Sound.
The perfect vantage point for photographing some dramatic landscapes
