World's Best National Parks

I'd always dreamed of visiting Yellowstone National Park. Did you know that it was the first ever established National Park? But I never knew there were so many amazing national parks around the world. So I compiled a list of my worldwide dream national parks, in no particular order.

1. Banff National Park (Canada)

Part of the Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site, this park is full of mountain forests and scenic glaciers. There are so many beautifully pristine lakes and perfect hiking trails. Definitely take a ride on the gondolas and check out Bow Falls.

2. Serengeti National Park (Tanzania)

The Serengeti is widely known for it's migration of wildebeest, gazelles, and zebras, which can be considered one of the greatest natural events in the world. This park is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. The migration occurs over long periods of time, twice a year so there will always be plenty of incredible animals to see.

3. Fiordland National Park (New Zealand)

So much water, so little time. Fiordland is well known in New Zealand for it's lakes. Cruise Mildford Sound and venture into the glowworm caves in Te Anau. There are plenty of awesome places to hike, which I appreciate, and beautiful views of the mountains.

4. Tikal National Park (Guatemala)

Tikal may have been the main governing city of the Maya Civilization, with a population of over 50,000 people. There are five large temples and many museums. This is one of the most historical national parks I've ever seen. The wildlife is incredible as well, really a birdwatcher's heaven.

5.  Kakadu National Park (Australia)

This trip may be next on my to-do-list, although I do have a sweet spot for Australia. Located in the Northern Territory, you can explore lush rainforests and see ancient rock art. Learn about the indigenous culture at Bowali Visitor Center or explore the iconic Mamukala Wetlands. Try to find hidden gorges or waterfalls if you can.

Thanks for listening!
