There was a time when many states and airlines insist on visitors providing COVID vaccination certificates to gain entry into the state or fly to certain destinations. As per the latest development, the Union Health Ministry said the government had not issued any Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which made it mandatory for anybody to carry a Covid Vaccination Certificate for any purpose, according to the affidavit filed in the top court.
The affidavit said, “It is duly advised, advertised and communicated through various print and social media platforms that all citizens should get vaccinated and systems and processes have been designed to facilitate the same. However, no person can be forced to be vaccinated against their wishes.”
The Union Health Ministry submitted that “the direction released by the Government of India did not envisage any forcible vaccination without consent of the individual”.
The government is trying its best and running ‘vaccination for all’ programmes. The program includes home or near to home vaccination strategies. The government is making all the efforts to provide vaccination facilities to everyone, including the disabled and fight the corona together. Everyone can get a vaccine without any hassle bustle, without forcing anyone to do it.
