The Shortest Class A RVs – Comparison

If you are looking for something that is still easy enough to drive but it has all amenities like a home you might want to consider a short Class A RV.

There are some other Thor RUVs and Winnebagos besides the ones I mention below, but I wanted to provide you with a bit more variety and quality of RVs.

Winnebago Intent 26M

Length 26.1 feet
MSRP $116.000
Trailer Hitch – Towing 5000 pounds
Fresh Water Tank  48 gallons
Black Water Tank31 31 gallons
Gray Water Tank 45 gallons
LPG 60 gallons
Fuel Capacity 80 gallons
Sleeps up to 5

I believe Winnebago is a better quality RV brand than Thor RVs, I have many friends driving them. The Winnebago Intent is among the more affordable Class A RVs out there, under 30 feet long, easy to drive.  Outside you can set up the easy-to-use powered patio awning and enjoy the outdoor kitchen if you buy their optional tailgate package. I personally would choose storage space instead…

Thor Axis/Vegas 24.1

Length 26.6 feet
MSRP $116.000
Trailer Hitch – Towing 8000 pounds
Fresh Water Tank  42 gallons
Black Water Tank 30 gallons
Gray Water Tank 40 gallons
LPG 40.9 gallons
Fuel Capacity 50 gallons
Sleeps up to 5

Thor makes these smaller class A RVs and call them RUVs (Recreational Utility Vehicles). It runs under two different names: Vegas  24.1 or Axis 24.1. It’s exactly the same layout, a bit different color in the outside. These RUVs feature all amenities than larger class A RVs and they got an updated modern look from the model year of 2019.

Coachmen Pursuit Precision 27DS

Length 28.9 feet
MSRP $95.000
Trailer Hitch – Towing 8000 pounds
Fresh Water Tank  50 gallons
Black Water Tank 36 gallons
Gray Water Tank 76 gallons
LPG 20 gallons
Fuel Capacity 80 gallons
Sleeps up to 6

I have a Coachmen Class C RV, and the Pursuit is their shortest Class A. I know Thor owns the company now, but this might worth the try if you want to buy a short RV that is easy to drive and fits into most places. It has a ton of amazing features built right in, and they now have a model without slides (that is slightly longer than this).

Winnebago Vista 27PE

Length 28.8 feet
MSRP $136.000
Trailer Hitch – Towing 5000 pounds
Fresh Water Tank  51 gallons
Black Water Tank 50 gallons
Gray Water Tank 45 gallons
LPG 18 gallons
Fuel Capacity 80 gallons
Sleeps up to 6

I’ve been looking at the Vistas for a while to upgrade my class C RV.  I have seen all their different layouts and the model 27P is the shortest. What I don’t like about it that the interior design is still dated for my taste. Many RV manufacturer now are upgrading to a more modern look, but not the Vista. However, Vista is still cheaper than other Class A RVs in this category.

Fleetwood Flair 28A

Length 29.3 feet
MSRP $114.000
Trailer Hitch – Towing 8000 pounds
Fresh Water Tank  50 gallons
Black Water Tank 37 gallons
Gray Water Tank 37 gallons
LPG 14 gallons
Fuel Capacity 80 gallons
Sleeps up to 8

This Fleetwood Flair has all what you can ask for and it is still under 30 feet long! Fleetwood RVs got a huge makeover in 2019 and they look really modern and beautiful inside! But, that’s just the beginning. The 2019 Flair have lots of practical features, such as 50-amp service, a 15K-BTU ducted A/C, enclosed and heated holding tanks, and pass-thru storage.
