Miami Wynwood art movement grew in a historic neighborhood in the east side of Miami just few minutes drive from Miami Beach and adjacent to the Design District. What was once a neighborhood full of abandoned warehouses is now transformed into the world’s largest Outdoor Graffiti Museum known as Wynwood Walls.

Redevelopment always brings a new layer of fresh ideas and displaces old elements that are no longer supporting a neighborhood. So the freshest idea from a visionary artist, Tony Goldman, was to cover the outer facades of warehouses with graffiti art from popular artists from around the world.
This grand collaborative project resulted in the birth of Miami Wynwood art center, an outstanding open air graffiti museum and a must see for all visitors to Miami!
Where else in the world can you enjoy an entire neighborhood, with amazing huge artworks by artist from South Africa, Japan, Greece, Brazil and more. A neighborhood breathing and living art and where artists spend serious time outdoor while being meticulous with their work.
From abstract, to unusual, to child oriented artwork, this Miami Wynwood art district has them all. The jaw-dropping artworks have been recognized around world and extensively covered by major media outlets such as Vogue, The Economist and New York Times.
One can spend an art enlightening morning and afternoon walking around and admiring the outdoor graffiti museum.
25th- 26th street was the birthplace of this art movement and the best way to enjoy visiting the various walls is by foot. It’s best to visit either early in the morning or late afternoon when the sun is cooler. It’s also definitely worth checking out the hip nightlife, where artists and hipsters gather in the numerous new bars and restaurants.
It’s interesting to also know that Wynwood was initially home to the first Puerto Rican migrants in Miami and there are some Puerto Rican restaurants in the area.
