Touring the UK is not just………

.…..Devon, Cornwall, The Dales and Scotland. There are so many other places in the UK that you can travel to which you may not think of immediately!

Even if it means taking a short ferry from the UK mainland it is worth the effort – it just takes a bit of planning.

So here is an idea – why not take the ferry from Stranraer or Liverpool to Belfast and see what Northern Ireland has to offer?

From the beautiful windswept coastline of the Giants Causeway and the knee trembling swaying of the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge to the vibrant energy of Belfast you will never be stuck for something to do or see.

We spent 4 days in and around Belfast enjoying the cosmopolitan restaurants and bars. The city is steeped in history, both old and recent.
The reminders of The Troubles are still there, the freshly painted murals along the Shankhill Road and the high walls of separation still snake along the edges of the ‘areas’, you can even tour the Crumlin jail now. Visit the Europa hotel, The Crown Tavern and the City Hall or take a tour around the slipways of the regenerated Belfast dock and the Harland and Wolff offices. You can imagine the elegant Titanic towering under the cranes of Samson and Goliath.

The Giants Causeway is only a few hours drive from Belfast, as is the rope bridge. It is a fabulous day out, you must try the Irish stew at the Causeway hotel when you have made your way back from the windswept coast and if you are the lucky one not driving, indulge in a Bushmills whiskey in the bar.

There are plenty of good quality campsites in and around the area. So get planning your adventure, you can have a great touring holiday with a little bit of everything from action packed days to gourmet evenings all in one place!
