There are many things we loved about Berlin, our apartment was filled with the ones we love, a gorgeous record player and two balconies overlooking the bustling Prenzlauer Berg.
Here are some stand outs featuring our friends from Avenoir Magazine (stay tuned for their travel section coming up soon!)

EisCafe,
A simple gelato store with mouthwatering choices and reasonable prices. It’s nothing fancy on the inside but try the pampelmo (grapefruit) & mango sorbet and it might just have you in tears.
Chaos Theorie
Chaos theorie has a wicked name and is a popular Vegan Resturaunt and cocktail bar. Cocktails start from about 6 euro and the atmosphere is fantastic, dogs are welcome and they have a disco bathroom. Complete with a glitter toilet seat, unicorn water dispenser and some fun lights! You can head to the photo booth afterwards for only 2 euro for a pair of three photographs in black and white. If you’re lucky enough like us, The Shop worker was visited by her adorable rescue dog named Milly who just loves cuddles!
Zola
As an avid Hummus maker (attached recipe below) I was a little apprehensive to head to Zola but I trusted them with my chickpea addiction and found that I was pleasantly surprised! The hummus is the star of the menu and is covered in the toppings of your choice and is smooth and delicious with soft chickpeas stirred in to each warm dip. Heaven.
Mothers Hummus Recipe
1 can of chickpeas
2 garlic cloves
Half a lemon
Tablespoon of tahini
1/2 teaspoon of cumin
1/2 teaspoon of paprika
Blend and add a bit of water until smooth. Can double! (Sprinkle paprika on the top)
Kreuzberger
Definetly not the best burger I’ve had but very much up there! This place is no fuss, serve yourself burgers and have a well thought out Vegan menu. The Prenzlauerburger with jalapeños and the Charlotten featuring Beef and Halloumi were a stand out. Team it with the national drink, Club Mate for a refreshing sidekick!
Ars Vini
A Cheese Fondue Resturaunt! What a revelation! The serving comes with unlimited bread and is priced at a hefty €15.90 but is shareable amongst friends. 2-3 people would enjoy one serve as an appetiser. Choose between The Italian with Parmesan & Pesto or The Spanish with diced chorizo and tomatoes and other cuisine inspired fondues.
KONNOPES IMBISS
A line is what you might find at Konnopes. But of course! It has been a main contender for the best Bratwurst and Curry Wurst for the last 15 years. Not a fan of the national dish myself, though it’s definetly worth a try!
Must sees outside Prenzlauer Berg:
YAAM
An African inspired culdesac with authentic food stalls and a man made beach over looking the river. This place gave us a little bit of Brixton with a whole lot of Berlin. Best place to relax in Berlin. hands down!
BURGERMEISTER
Known as the best burgers in Berlin underneath a train station, it’s true.
