Top 5 Queensland Things To Do For First Time Visitors

‘There’s a reason why Queensland is one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations: it has everything!…’

From the mountains to cosmopolitan cities and everything in between, it’s a state that caters to all people, regardless of their interests. However, while the range of activities is one of its strong points, it might also provide something of a drawback. After all, with so much to do, how do you know where to start? Below, we take a look at some of the key spots and activities that first-time visitors should endeavour to get onto their itinerary.

Brisbane

Brisbane might not get the limelight that Sydney or Melbourne often receive, but don’t let that fool you: this is an awesome city. Australia’s third largest (and Queensland’s largest), it has a cool, laid-back atmosphere that just invites you to fall in love with its charm. On a sunny day, the best place way to be is the South Bank, which is located on the river and is home to cafes, restaurants, museums, and entertainment.

Under the Sea

Every other Australia state – not mention every other country in the world has cities, but Queensland has something that other places don’t – and will never – have: the Great Barrier Reef. Whether you’re a nature lover or not, it’s imperative that you visit this unique, breathtaking space during your Trip to Queensland. You can snorkel or dive around the reef, or take one of the glass bottom boat tours if you don’t feel like getting wet. However you choose to see it, you won’t regret taking the time to see one of the world’s natural wonders!

To the Beach

When you’re in Australia, you’re going to have to do what the locals do. And that is, of course: head to the beach! Luckily, the beaches in Queensland are some of the best in the world. You won’t struggle to find a Beach that takes your breath away, but we will say this: if you can make it to Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island, then you might just think that you’ve found heaven on earth. It really is that stunning!

Into Nature

You’ll want to get into the great outdoors at some stage during your trip. Indeed, there are so many places to see that you could feasibly spend your entire trip soaking up the natural beauty! If you have a car, take a trip to the Hinterland; there you’ll find mountains, waterfalls, quaint old towns, and much more to feast your eyes on, including the tourist-friendly Tamborine Mountain.

The Events

Finally, remember that Queensland loves events and festivals! As such, there’ll likely be something going on during your trip, You may be happy to note that many of the festivals centre around music, beer, and the arts – or more often than not, a combination of all those things – and always have a great atmosphere! For a full on Aussie experience, you’ll want to check out the Noose Festival of Surfing, which takes place in March
