A good holiday vacation is not complete without visiting wildlife spot areas. Whether you love wild animals or not, the fact remains that a visit to National parks of your destinations proves to be more thrilling. Many tourists whom that I have come across in my line of traveling tells me that a visit to the national or reserved parks must be in their itinerary, and so do I too.

So where do you plan to visit and come eye-to-eye contact with the wildebeests, lion in their pride, elephants in their families, cheetahs with their hunting speed, leopards with their tip-toeing walk as they hunt, tigers with their wild but colorful look, etc?

Check out these leading national parks in their respective countries and arrange a quick vacation either solo or with your lovely family.

  1. Kruger National Park – South Africa

Kruger National Park is one of the biggest national parks in Africa covering an area of 19,485 square kilometers approximately 7523 square meter. It is found in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in the northeastern South Africa.

This park is a home to hundreds of animals found in planet earth. Within it you will find the Big Five animals i.e. lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards and rhinos. Hundreds of other mammals make their home here, as do diverse bird species such as vultures, eagles and storks. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape. The scenic safari drive into this park wil absolutely makes your vacation amazing and satisfying.

  1. Maasai Mara National Park – Kenya

Having won the World Travel Awards as the best National Park for three consecutive years, Maasai National park should be your first destination in Africa. It is located in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system.

Owing to its fascinating record of millions of wildebeests, and zebras that cross Mara River offering undisputed feasts to the waiting crocodiles that crush them greedily, the sight is the most watched phenomenon in the wild.

It’s so unfortunate for these herbivores because if they are lucky from the crocodile’s mouth, some are trodden to death by their companions and some are caught by the other predators when they cross the river for greener pastures. This Great Wildebeest Migration is listed the contender list of the Eight Wonders of the World. This phenomenon happens every year in the months of July to September. Between Decembers to February are also great times as it is dryer and good for the Big Cats. The park also has 570 and 95 species of birds and mammals respectively.

  1. Jim Corbett National Park – India

There are about 400 hundreds national parks in India and therefore choosing the best is determined by what you really want to watch. Some have a good view for elephants, rhinoceros, lions etc but Jim Corbett is known for its tigers making it the best national park in India. The park is divided into four separate zones, known as Durgadevi, Dhikala, Jhirna, and Bijrani, sprawled across an area of 520 square kilometers. All four of these are ideal for spotting a tiger in its natural habitat. Other animals to be spotted in this park include leopards, jackals, deer, sloth bear, black bear, red fox, monkeys just but a few. Other national parks in India include Rathambore National Park, Keoladeo National Park etc.

  1. Nairobi National Park – Kenya

This is the only national park probably in the world that wild animals share a more-closely environment with the residents nearby. Nairobi National park is commonly known as the “The World’s Wildlife Capital”. It is located a few minutes’ drive from Nairobi’s central business district.  Wide open grass plains and backdrop of the city scrapers, scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded. Visitors can enjoy the park’s picnic sites, three campsites and the walking trails for hikers.

  1. Jiuzhaigou National Park – China

Jiuzhaigou National park is located in the northern side of Sichuan province in China. Jiuzhaigou means “Nine Village valley” and refers to Tibetan villages that are scattered in its parklands. It is one of the parks in Asia that attracts millions of tourists annually due to its natural beauty of biodiversity.

The park which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 is best known for its fabled blue and green lakes, spectacular waterfalls, and deep woodlands backlit by snowy mountain ranges and its unique wildlife. Jiuzhaigou National Park provides spectacular scenery throughout the year making it one of China’s most treasured scenic sites. Moreover, most of its major attractions are easily accessed on foot or by bus.

The beauty of Thailand runs from its capital city to its virgin national parks that await your exploration. And one such park to visit before you die is Khao Sok National Park. Without any doubt this is the best place to go for a vacation. Its beauty is found in the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, huge attractive limestone, wild animals, breathtaking lakes, deep valleys, mountains shooting up to the air just to mention but a few.
