THAI FOOD! Everyone loves Thai food! Tom Yums and Curries… ooo yummy but there’s more! We always go to this E-Sarn outlet at Pasir Panjang when we need somewhere for an office team lunch. Not only that the food taste good but it’s also reasonably priced.
There’s quite a variety here, from appetisers like Thai fish cake, Curry, crispy omelette to larger items like fish and prawns. They have those individual set meals as well for those looking for a simple weekday lunch break. So here are our verdict on some of the better things we’ve tried.
Crispy omelette. Deep Fried into a fluff of yummy goodness. I have no idea how they manage to deep fry just eggs into this gigantic savoury ball. There’s option with meat and prawns but nothing beats the crispy plain ones.
Pad Thai, oh Pad Thai.. the ones they have here are so good. The noodles are so soft and topped with a generous pile of crushed peanuts. Gawd.
Massaman Curry is da bomb here for me. The Red Curry is good. The green curry is good. But the Massaman curry is beyond. That thick and rich nutty goodness. Creamy and sweet with a little tinge of spiciness. This quickly became our must order dish whenever we visited.
Chicken Wings. This might sound rather… normal. But the wings here are a little different. It comes in mid wings only and they actually cut it into two. When I was first introduced to it, one of my colleagues told me it was frog legs and I really fell for it! But trust me, it’s chicken and it’s awesome. Because it’s cut into smaller pieces, the meat is lot drier.. almost like a mummified chicken BUT it’s also oddly satisfying. I can imagine this going very well with booze.
Mango Stick Rice, the ones there are sooo sweet. Personally I starting to suspect they are using the well-known Philippines mangoes.
Coconut Ice Cream. This is not like one of those b-grade Pasar Malam coconut ice-cream. This is the real stuff.
Red Curry because Massaman curry sold out :(
There quite a bunch of other stuff that we ate here. Tom Yum, Green Curry, Red Curry, Fish Cakes, Deep Fried Pork, Various meat with Basil all of them are quite good but the ones that keeps us coming are those that I have mentioned above.
How to get there
They have a few outlets which are all list on their website.
