Regional Australia/low population growth metropolitan areas

Regional Australia refers to metropolitan towns around the country with a Low Population Growth. With a large percent of Australians drawn to living in city centers, the Australian Government encourages growth in these areas by encouraging migrants who wish to work in Australia to apply for an Australian visa that will place them in these low growth areas. This visa is called a Regional Australian visa.

These regional towns can vary from small towns high up in the Northern Territory such as Darwin, to Alice Springs in the middle of the magnificent Australian desert. Or the lovely, tourist coastal town of Coffs Harbor in New South Wales to Victoria’s inland town of Bendigo with its rich Australian history and its population of over 90,000.

Depending on your personal circumstances, qualifications and skills, a registered MARA agent will be able to advise you on the benefits of applying for a regional Australian visa. If you have already lived and studied in, and are able to find sponsored work in an Australian low Population Growth area, you may be granted extra points when applying for a General Skilled Migration visa.

If you are applying for a Skilled regional sponsored visa (provisional), and are being sponsored by a State or Territory government, you and your spouse and or dependents will have special conditions attached to your visa until you are granted permanent residence (under the scheme under which your visa is granted).

This means you will have to commit to living and working in a low population growth regional area until you become a permanent Australian resident.
