As the nights draw in, we look back on what has been a lovely summer here at Little Satmar. We have had lots of sunny days and many happy visitors. To make the most of the wonderful weather we held a raffle and a hot dog stall over the August Bank Holiday. All monies raised were donated to our chosen charities; the RNLI and the Air Ambulance. Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets and donated money for hot dogs, we raised £190!

Our new bug house has had lots of attention and the newly vamped log pile has created a much appreciated watering hole for our visiting hedgehogs. These new additions have definitely helped increase the number of Wildlife sightings this year, someone even spotted a white goldfinch! Quite a rare sighting, which has all been documented in our wildlife journal.

Little Satmar has once again achieved Gold for the David Bellamy Conservation Scheme, which was very welcome news after all the hard work the team have put in this year. We are also the proud owners of this years’ Woodland Badge and we have earned a Wildflower Habitat Badge too!  The park is also proud to now be Honey Bee Friendly and has received a silver award in the Wild About Gardens Awards.

Having achieved so much outside we are pleased to mention that the park office is having a little revamp too. Over the next few months the office will be getting a fresh new look ready to welcome everyone back next season.
