Las Vegas, the city I love
The Baron had a dream to move to the U.S. since he was a 16. "For some reason I always wanted to move to San Diego. However, When I was 21, I moved to England to perform and learn more skills on how to my make myself to be more versatile showman".
He came to Las Vegas first time only two years ago to support his partner LouLou D’vil in Burlesque Hall of Fame where she was competing for the tittle of Miss Exotic World. She won. "Not that it was my first time in Las Vegas but in America" he says.
The Baron traveled a bit around the U.S. "a bit around to cities such as New Orleans, Los Angeles and Dallas, but the city that really took my heart was Las Vegas. This was the city I now had burning desire to come back to and move into. I wanted it so hard that two years later I'am now living here and making my dream come true".
I asked The Baron about the difference in between Europe and USA in the field of performing arts and here is what he says about his experience.
"I have performed since 1998 in various different circuses, troupes and done tons of solo shows. Most of the shows I’ve been involved in have been rather theatrical and acting based. Most of the European based performers I know from my field of art are putting on theatrical acts".
"When I first came to USA and started seeing American shows in the field of Physical Comedy and sideshow, I soon realized that they are standing in more traditional form of midway entertainment with less theatrics and more stunt based shows. I must say that I am very proud of my American brothers and sisters who are still keeping the flames of traditions burning hot".
The Baron Talks about his performance shows around the world. "As mentioned earlier, I have been performing for quite a long time. I have seen crowds of 10 people up to 20 000 people. I have performed from New Zealand to Singapore, from Seychelles to Iowa. I have been performing for the festival crowds of Glastonbury Festival to Prince of Saudi Arabia. I have been pushing sharp steel pins through my flesh and been hanged of the flesh hooks".
"These days my shows are based in physical comedy with extreme stunts. My stage persona is ever so camp and dandy with healthy amount of roughness to it. I bend iron bars with my teeth, rip books in half, hammer large nails into my nasal cavity, tear steel chains apart and lift heavy weights with piercings and eyelids". The Baron has a current Guinness World Record for Heaviest Weight Lifted With Nipples 72 lbs.
He also host shows and events. "Only a few weeks a go I had a great honor to be hosting a gala at The Golden Tiki where in famous Carrot Tops shrunken head was revealed". We first met during The Golden Tiki's Mad Monster Party Weekend which he also hosted.
The Baron talks about his new production."Me and my Partner Loulou D’vil are producing a club night called Mondo Sleaze. Mondo Sleaze is a 60’s-70’s GoGo style club influenced by the worlds of Russ Meyer and Quentin Tarantino. This is a club night for everybody to have fun and just let the daily worries to be forgotten".
