Istanbul, Cappadocia & Kusadasi Turkey

Turkey is a country  in the media a lot  lately , yet the stories forget to mention the historical importance of this country and just how much of it is a must-see place. With hot-air balloons soaring over the fairytale-like land of Cappadocia, to the bustle and bargains of Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar; from the Byzantine era, mosaic-laden Mosque of the Hagia Sofia to the Blue Flag golden stretches of beach along the coast of Turkey- there really is no other country on Earth like it.

Tourists gather in hotspots along the Southern coast; with each resort offering various attractions and excursions for every age range. One hotspot in particular, which is growing in numbers year by year, is Kusadasi. Kusadasi is situated near to the third largest city in Turkey, Izmir, and is accessible by road from other popular resorts such as Bodrum, or Marmaris.

Kusadasi has a different feel to many other towns in Turkey; it feels real and livable, and it very easily captures ones’ heart. Kusadasi is situated on the Aegean Sea, with the southern part of the town being home to Long Beach, which stretches for over 6km, and Ladies Beach (Kadinlar Denizi) which holds a promenade of various restaurants and cafes; perfect for watching the summer sun setting over the glistening sea.

Kusadasi‘s Hotel scene ranges from 1 star to 5 star resorts and apartments. There is a brand new golf resort situated in the lush mountainside on the outskirts of the city centre, owned by the Ramada Hotel, with 6 outdoor pools and an indoor spa centre for those who prefer a luxurious holiday, as well as the Suhan Seaport Hotel Kusadasi located near to both of Kusadasi’s family friendly waterparks and has a stunning infinity pool overlooking the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. There are all-inclusive hotels available, as well as many affordable package holiday hotels, and cheaply priced ‘Pensions’. As Kusadasi is one of the biggest cruise port hubs in Turkey, many visitors come into the town on  certain days, therefore making the town seem busier on some days rather than others; sometimes up to 6 liners at a time dock!

Kusadasi is strategically located next to one of the ancient wonders of the world Ephesus. Ephesus was an ancient Greek and Roman city, built in 10 B.C and famous for its Temple of Artemis. Southwest of the village of Selcuk, where Ephesus stands, is the house where the Virgin Mary was believed to have lived at a time during her last years with S.t John. Both of these excursions can take place in a day, and can be booked through  Ada Vegas Travel Agency.

Other worthwhile trips include a boat trip, with a barbeque and unlimited drinks on board whilst perfect for topping up your tan, and a trip to the picturesque, quaint village of Sirince where you can taste fruity wines and enjoy a stroll around the winding, cobbled streets. Ada Vegas also caters for longer trips up to 18 days, where you can visit the cultural and historical sites of Turkey enjoying places such as Troy, Pamukkale, Cappadocia and Istanbul.

Kusadasi is a town not to be missed with its homely feel and offers something different for everyone, one can’t fail to be wowed; making memories that will last a lifetime. From belly dancing nights, to bars that open into the early hours, and from passionate animation teams in the hotels to watersports in the sunshine, Kusadasi is a place that is difficult to forget.
