Video: Reconstituted (Skateboarding 2015)

Nearly two years ago to date, I wrote a post about the influence that Skateboarding ultimately would have on my musical palette. My lifelong friend Bob Cline, as the post mentioned, was a monumental inspiration in that period of my life. He continues to be one to this day.

Bob reached out to me to collaborate on a song choice for the edit of his inaugural skateboarding video, ‘Reconstituted’– a title inspired after a 5 year hiatus from skating and translates to “build up again from parts”– a little less than a year ago. His vision was something with a contemporary 80’s vibe, toeing the lines of multiple genres Including electronic, pop, and rock. I immediately thought of this Com Truise’s synth-heavy remix of Twin Shadow’s ‘Castles in the Snow’. After much deliberation, we would eventually select it as the one to be featured here.

The video itself is an impressive piece of work especially when you consider that Bob is self-taught, just like fellow Glass Duffle contributors Eric and Wes. A majority was shot with the Go Pro Hero 4 Silver Edition, with added footage from iPhone’s (5S and 6S). The video spans the last year or so of Bob’s escapades with his skate deck, including cameos from yours truly and our good buddy Chris Manocchio along the way. We would help Bob shoot a few of the featured scenes, but this art is unequivocally his own.

So without further ado, it’s an honor and pleasure to give you ‘Reconstituted':
