Algarve tourist history hailed in a new magazine

If you are in Portimao this month, you could attend an interesting cultural event, as we have the Algarve tourist History Hailed in a new magazine of the Promontoria Monografica Series.

Pere Ferre, the vice-rector of the Algarve University, will make the presentation, while NERA president Vitor Neto will also be invited to hold a speech. The event poses great interest in the academia world and not only, as the tourist industry is an emergent aspect of the Portuguese culture and its resorts and mechanisms are interesting to study.

Also, after the event per se, you are invited to visit the exhibition “100 years from the Algarve Regional Congress – 1915, Algarve Awakens”, part of the Portimao Museum legacy.

If you want to learn more about tourism in the Algarve, this just might be an interesting opportunity. Not to mention this will be an excellent afternoon out, something different from just spending a few hours holde up in a bar or wandering about aimlessly.

Apart from tourism, the conference will touch subjects such as local culture and history, health and lifestyle, economy, archaeology and museology.

The Promontoria Monografica Series is edited by the CEPAC Center which belongs to the Algarve University, Faculty of Humanistic and Social Sciences. Their main aim is to promote the exploration and investigation of the geographical context of the Iberian Peninsula. Let’s wish them all good luck and congratulations!

Also, let’s remember the southern part of Portugal is deserving of the utmost consideration as a prominent European tourist hub. It can get pretty crowded in summers, so if you want to visit this very year, you might want to arrange for all the travel services well in advance. Apart from plane tickets and lodgings, consider some Algarve car rental options, as well as Faro airport transfers.
