The Japanese Foundation in London hosted a free Ninja history talk and ninja technique demonstration. Including how to walk stealthily, how to appear as small as possible, the many uses of a rope and a shawl, dislocating your body parts to escape tight situations, and weapons like acupuncture needles and chopsticks.
There was also a talk about the history of ninjas (they were originally spies, and intelligence was a more important qualification than strength) and somehow the English Translation was always a lot shorter than the Japanese prof’s explanation. I should watch Lost in Translation again.
This isn’t the same demonstration, but here’s one from YouTube about fighting with a rope: http://youtu.be/T4meBZnP2c8
