India is one of the most incredible places in the world. It is one of those rare places where you can’t help but fall into an adventure. However, part of its allure is also it’s the biggest curse, and that is the size of it. India is absolutely ginormous, and that makes seeing all of it nearly impossible.

However, there is so much to see here, so much to experience and gawk at and so many things to snatch the breath from your lungs, getting your Indian visa is a must because you’ll want to visit and revisit this place. You’ll get the bug (the traveling India bug, hopefully not the Delhi Belly bug, and find yourself wanting to keep coming back.

And here are the reasons why:

1. Bhubaneswar City

With more than 600 astonishing Hindu temples, this place is rightly known as the City of Temples. Lingaraj, Mukteshwar, Duladevi, the Konark sun temples and Puri Jagannath; these are all the ones worth visiting.

2. Valley Of Flowers

It is a hike to the peaks of the West Himalaya, but it is so worth it to see the abundance of flora and the endless meadows of alpine flowers. If you want to know when to do this, we recommend you see it in monsoon season.

3 Brahmaputra River

At almost 300-km long, this river is one of the largest in Northeast India and one of the most special places anywhere in the world. Sunsets here are like nowhere else on earth, and seeing just one could change you forever. A snapshot everyone must get a glimpse of.

4. Frozen Lakes

The great Himalaya mountain contains hundreds and hundreds of stunning lakes, and some of the most beautiful frozen lakes. Picking just three is hard, but the ones we recommend you have to see are the frozen Lake at Tawang, the Gurudongmar Lake of Sikkim and the world-famous Dal Lake in Srinagar. Breathtaking, all of them.

5. Kanha National Park

Two of the most spectacular animals anywhere on earth is the Royal Bengal Tiger and the Indian Leopard, of which the Kanha National Park has a significant population. But just this place, in general, is astonishing; the rich wildlife surrounded by dense bamboo and tall Sal forests. So whether you go by sleeper bus, train, plane, car or whatever; just make sure you see the animals of this amazing country.

6. Goa

This exotic island may be small, but it is known the world over for its beaches. The long stretches of white sand make it an absolute paradise, while the stunning architecture and worship sights make it a must-see stop off and the perfect place to catch your breath.

7. Darjeeling

The Queen Of The Hills is located in the foothills of the Himalayas to the east of India and is home to some of the most beautiful tea gardens you could ever hope of seeing. To get the most out of an adventure here, we recommend a few days, rafting and trekking before enjoying a cup of the most delicious tea you will ever taste.

8. Varanasi

This is one of the oldest cities anywhere in India and it is situated right on the banks of the great river Ganges. To so many here – both Buddhists and Hindu’s – this is known as the Holy City. To put it simply; the tradition, culture, and aesthetics here are like nowhere else. Period.
