  • Can US Passengers operate: Yes, but with exceptions.
    • 1. Travelers may enter Costa Rica by air through direct flights from any state or countries, or by connecting/transit via airports in other state or countries.
    • 2. A maximum connection/transit time between airports of 18 hours shall be allowed during that period passengers cannot leave the airports where they are transiting or connecting.
    • 3. Each passenger shall be prepared to demonstrate that he/she is in connection/transit and that his/her flight originated in one of the authorized states or countries, either by presenting his/her boarding passes or an air ticket.
    • 4. US travelers are required to complete an online health declaration form prior to arrival and have proof of health insurance, adequate accommodation in Costa Rica in case of quarantine, and ability to cover medical expenses.
    • Passengers must prove their residency in one of those states using their driver’s license. This requirement excludes children travelling with their family. US travelers must submit online health declaration form prior to arrival and have proof of health insurance, adequate accommodation in Costa Rica in case of quarantine.
    • US pax from a non-authorized U.S. state that would like to enter the Costa Rica via private jet must have approval from the minister of health.

Special Considerations: Universal Aviation Costa Rica suggests landing at MROC through the General Aviation Terminal because they have the protocol for health inspection at arrival and the passenger can be pick up at MROC airport.  If they prefer, Universal Aviation Costa Rica can set up a ground transportation for them to the other airport (takes 15 minutes).

Travelers from variant virus hotspots – Many countries are restricting entry for travelers who have visited a variant virus hotspot, including the UK, Brazil, and South Africa. Travelers from neighboring countries may also be restricted.

Prior arrival they must register on the following Lab web site : http://pasedesalud.casalab.com.ve  fill the form and must pay $60.00 cash upon arrival for the test. Laboratorio Clinico CASALAB 2020 has been authorized by the Government to perform all COVID-19 testing upon arrival. Once tested the results will be sent to the email provided by the person upon register.
