Your At-Home Fall Bucket List

While Fall is a wonderful time to explore the beauty of the outdoors, part of autumn’s appeal is the cozy, comfy vibe that coincides with spending time inside. And if you ask us, there’s no better place to veg out than right in the comfort of your own apartment. That’s why we were inspired to create this at-home fall bucket list, featuring some must-do activities that are best done indoors, in your own abode. Check out the list below, and plan your fall hangtime accordingly.

Sip A Warm Beverage

Sipping a warm beverage is a must-do once the weather begins to dip (or even before it gets chilly if you want to start your celebrations early). Tea, coffee or hot chocolate are all great sipping options. Hot cider is another especially seasonal choice. We believe a warm beverage is best enjoyed next to a crackling fireplace. However, if you aren’t lucky enough to have a fireplace of your own, hope is not lost — there are tons of YouTube channels featuring a fireplace scene, as well as other fireside channels on popular streaming services.

Curl Up With A Good Book

Another seemingly obvious task on our at-home fall bucket list is to curl up with a good book. Reading is a relaxing way to unwind at home, and it can be made even more enjoyable during the fall season. Listening to a story aloud is another comforting option. Maybe it’s because of the memories it evokes of storytime as a child, or maybe there’s just something about certain voices that make you feel calmer. In any case, listening to a story aloud should also be in your fall plans.

Make A Fall-Themed Meal

Check out some delicious slow cooker recipes right here. Or, try one of our favorite fall-inspired meal prep recipes for your workweek lunch needs. Sweet treats are another popular choice, and the options are endless when it comes to fall-themed desserts. Making your own candy apples is one of our favorite pastimes, and nothing says “fall” quite like biting into a crunchy, candy-coated Granny Smith or Red Delicious.

Bake Something

Baking is another activity that encompasses that fall vibe you crave this time of year. Sweet aromas from freshly baked goods are just what you want in your kitchen come autumn. If you need some baking inspiration, check out this recipe for a delicious homemade pie crust. Other baked goods like cookies or cupcakes are also great options if pie isn’t your thing.

Catch A Fall-Themed Movie

With Halloween on the way, now is the time to start binging on horror movies. Opt for a fall-themed film instead if you aren’t a fan of freaking yourself out for fun. Check out this list here. Additionally, some shows are also associated with the fall season. For example, September is a prime time to revisit Gilmore Girls (because we all know it’s always fall in Stars Hallow).

Create A Fall Decoration

It’s not quite time to start carving pumpkins yet, but it’s perfectly acceptable to get your fall crafting started in September. A couple of fun ideas are to create a fall-inspired wreath, like this one here, or an autumnal table decoration like one of these DIY centerpieces. The key is to make sure your creation features fall-centric details, whether it’s leaf-colored hues or seasonal fruits. Remember, you don’t have to get spooky with your decor just yet (but if you’re ready for it, don’t let us stop you).
