If you haven’t started spring cleaning yet, don’t panic. You’ve still got time. A little bit of guidance might be just what you need to help set you in the right direction, and the ancient practice of Feng Shui is a good place to start. Why? Because feng shui is believed to cultivate positive energy in your apartment and ultimately your life.
Let the Light In
Wash your windows and curtains, and keep them open to let as much light in as possible. Feng shui practice says light is the physical manifestation of the sun, and proper lighting can balance out unwanted energies in your apartment by illuminating your space. To ensure enough light is getting into your apartment, wash your windows thoroughly, and open your blinds to let the light inside your home.
We believe there’s no such thing as too much decluttering. That’s because it’s just too easy for clutter to creep back into your life before you know it’s happened. In feng shui, clutter can disrupt the flow of positive energy within your home, and cause anxiety in your life. Instead, make space for positive things to come into your life by de-cluttering your living area.
Deep Clean Your Kitchen
If you choose one room to deep clean this spring, let it be your kitchen. In the practice of feng shui, a clean kitchen coincides with good health. Remove any old food or cleaning products from your cabinets, and clean out unwanted fridge items, too.
Fix What’s Broken
Spring isn’t the time to keep putting off any small issues in your apartment. If there’s something that needs fixing, now is the time to do it. In feng shui, broken things in the home are believed to lead to money trouble and or health troubles, none of which you need this upcoming spring season. Let your landlord know of any minor maintenance requests you may have been putting off for a while.
