Cruise Ship in Cabo San Luis |
A popular port of call for cruise ships along the Mexican Riviera, Cabo San Lucas (commonly called Cabo) is a Mexican destination that offers a wonderful combination of great weather and spectacular scenery. It is located on the southern tip of the 800-mile long Baja California Peninsula, with the Sea of Cortez on one shore and the Pacific Ocean on the other.

Medano Beach - Cabo San Lucas |
We love spending the day at Medano Beach, Cabo's long main beach. It is great for swimming and watersports, with lots of fun restaurants right on the beach. We have a beer and margarita with the sand under our feet and enjoy the warm ocean water, music, white sand, and beautiful sky. Order some guacamole and Mexican or other food – paradise!

Water Taxi to Medano Beach |
You can get to Medano Beach using the water taxis located down the cruise pier. We normally get a one-way ride for $5/person. You can get a ride back to the cruise pier at the drop off place. Be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to get back to your ship.

Beer, Margarita, & Guacamole on the Beach - Paradise! |
Bring a beach towel from the ship along with sunscreen. The swimming areas are roped off to keep you safe from boats. There will be beach vendors trying to sell you souvenirs (beach towels, jewelry, sunglasses, fruits, etc.) - just say "no garcia" if you are not interested. There are sport activities you can do such as jet skis and parasailing.

Sand Bar - Medano Beach |
Medano Beach Travel tips: It is best to get going early off the cruise ship to be able to get a prime lounge chair and umbrella on Medano Beach. We like the Sand Bara little way down the beach from the drop off place. Purchase drinks and some of their very good food and they will comp the chairs and umbrella. They have excellent service and we have been told the massage upstairs is wonderful.
The nearby and more famous “Office” can be a bit noisy – if you like a party scene, that may be a better place for you.
