What is Resolution of a Photograph?

(Migrated from a 6 years old Blog) The amount of detail in an image. Digital Images are measured by the number of pixels per inch (ppi). For printing, Resolution is measured by the number of dots printed in a linear inch (dpi). The higher the resolution, the larger the file size...

Photo resolution describes the detail an image holds. The term applies to digital images, film images, and other types of images. Higher resolution means more image detail.
