Summertime Acoustic Sessions at Fairway Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort

SUMMERTIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY AT FAIRWAY HOTEL’S ACOUSTIC SATURDAYS.

The Fairway Hotel calls their Cosmopolitan “Sex in the city, in a glass”.

For those in the know, this  claim to fame can only be enhanced by the live afternoon acoustic sounds planned for every first Saturday  of the month, starting in September, from 13:00 to 16:00.

Enjoy the relaxed sounds while savouring the golf course view along with a light lunch and drinks at Roundabout Bar. Justin Serrao  will be performing September, October and November. He may even bring a friend or two to do some duo songs. Lost & Found – a new and exciting Folk Rock duo consisting of Glen from the Parlotones and Jason from Van Coke Kartel and Black Cat Bones, will be performing in December.

Entrance is free for all, but bookings are essential to guarantee a table – bookings to please be directed to Balata Restaurant.

For a few proudly South African Cocktail ideas we knocked on the door of Living Lifestyle and found a few brandy-based gems for you to try out at home:

THE AMA-LEKKERLICIOUS
Sweet and peachy-keen with a hint of bitter, is what you can expect from the “ama-lekkerlicious” cocktail created by Kurt Schlechter, the winner of the 2011 FHM SA Brandy competition.

METHOD
Combine all the ingredients. | Pour into the whiskey glass. | Serve with a smile.

THE FYNBOS
FHM Brandy Cocktail 2012 competition winner, Eugene Thompson, has shown that “local is always lekker” with his brandy cocktail named “The Fynbos”.

INGREDIENTS
1 tsp. honey | 5ml ginger liqueur | 50ml brandy | 25ml sugar syrup | 50ml chilled rooibos tea. | You’ll need a martini glass too.

METHOD
Chill the martini glass before creating the cocktail. | Combine the rooibos tea, honey, ginger liqueur, sugar syrup and brandy.| Shake well.| Strain into the chilled martini glass.| Garnish with a piece of lemon peel.
