Restoran Xiang Mun Bandar Mahkota Cheras

It is time to explore the Chinese food at Bandar Mahkota Cheras. First restaurant we visited is Restoran Xiang Mun. This is one of the most popular Chinese restaurants at Bandar Mahkota Cheras.

We went on weekend, booked our table and the restaurant was packed as early as 6 pm. This is an ordinary looking restaurant, not a fancy Chinese banquet restaurant.

The friendly owner recommended a few signature dishes and they are ‘One Pork Rib’, Curry Fish Head, Salted Egg Mantis Prawn, Kam Heong Lala and Fried Chicken Wing with Prawn Paste. This is for six people and actually slightly too much.

One Pork Rib is a must order. The meat is tender and it is immense in flavor. The sweetness taste and tender texture, it complements well with rice. The kids love this very much and this is really good.

Curry Fish Head is as good as it looks. The curry is tasty and it comes with generous amount of fish head and vegetables. Even our parents loved the taste of this dish.

Salted Egg Mantis Prawn. Their version of salted egg mantis prawn is lightly battered and deep fried to perfection. The texture is soft on the inside while the taste is pretty good.

 Kam Heong Lala is a beauty. The kam heong sauce is spot on, flavourful and no regrets ordering this. The size of the lala ‘flesh’ is quite big so this is worthwhile to order.

Fried Chicken Wing with Prawn Paste. Their version of this comes with crispy skin and the flavor is fragrant with the prawn paste. Complement it with the chili sauce, it will complete the taste.

Overall, the food at Restoran Xiang Mun Bandar Mahkota Cheras is very good. The service is fast, friendly and the waiting time for the food is not that long. The pricing of the food is reasonable and we will definitely come back again!
