1978 Cucur Udang Sea Park

This is probably one of my most favourite snacks or kueh in Malaysia. To be honest, it is hard to find a good Cucur Udang / prawn fritters. It is either it comes with one tiny prawn or they screwed up with the texture. After much recommendation from Makan Club, I got to know 1978 Cucur Udang at Sea Park.

Since I stayed at the other part of Klang Valley, I am not familiar with the food scene at Sea Park. What I understand is they are established since 1978. This 1978 Cucur Udang outlet is located at 14, Jln 21/19, Sea Park while they have two more outlets and they are located at Damansara Uptown and Bangsar.

They are selling the cucur udang for RM 2 per piece. It is fine for me as it comes with generous amount of prawns. The size of the cucur udang is palm size.

What I like about their cucur udang is it is still warm when I order it. It is very crispy on the outside while the taste is spot on.

The chili sauce however is too thick and spicy to my liking. I prefer it to be more acidic but the cucur udang is flavourful enough without the chili sauce.

I love this 1978 cucur udang and that is the reason why I went to Sea Park to try it. This reminds me of my dad’s cucur udang that comes with generous amount of prawns with flavourful taste. I will come back again for more.
