What to eat in Temerloh Pahang? How about Go Bang Maju Patin Tempoyak? This is probably the most popular restaurant you can find in Temerloh Pahang.

We were in Temerloh Pahang before Movement Control Order (MCO) or COVID-19 and our friend who is from that beautiful town brought us to Go Bang Maju Patin Tempoyak.

What is tempoyak?

Tempoyak is a unique Malay dish. Tempoyak is actually made from ferment durian flesh with salt. The durian flesh will be added with salt and will be put in room temperature for a couple of days to ferment. The tempoyak will usually cook with fish but you don’t really get that much taste of the durian.

Go Bang Maju Patin Tempoyak Temerloh Pahang opens from 11 am to 10 pm daily except Thursday. They are located at 1/4 Mile Jalan Triang, Temerloh, 28000 Temerloh, Pahang

It is a self service restaurant, the food is cooked and served on trays and then you will pay based what you pick.

We went there slightly early before the lunch crowd and right after we picked our food, the restaurant is packed with customers. What we like about this place is you can find almost the whole village of Temerloh sitting together and dine here. It is so ‘muhibbah’.

All the food comes with the price tag and we ordered the famous Patin Tempoyak, Grilled Fish and Ayam Bakar. There are also many other food available such as Durian Cendol but it wasn’t the season back then.

Overall we enjoyed the food here. If you are big fan of Patin tempoyak, you should visit this restaurant when you are in Temerloh. The grilled fish and ayam bakar is equally tasty and you can also check out some of their other dishes available. The food pricing is here is similar to Kuala Lumpur pricing. Go there early to avoid the peak hours crowd.
