Singapore, the world's only island city-state, is a travel friendly nation. It has so many travel attractions and is one of the most visited travel destination of the entire globe. Let us discuss about an important religious site called Veeramaa Kali Amman Temple in this article.

Veeramaa Kali Amman Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples of Singapore. It is located in Serangoon Road. It was built by the Indians who settled down in Singapore. 


The temple built as per the Dravidian temple architectural style has a gopura. The sanctum enshrines Kali Amman with eight arms in the sitting posture. On the either sides of the sanctum, the sub-shrines of Ganesh and Subramanya are located. The flag staff, bali peetha and Simha Vaahan are found facing towards the sanctum.

In the prakara, there is a shrine where the village deities such as Madurai Veeran, Periya Karuppan and Chinna Karuppan are enshrined. The sub-shrines of Mahisasura Mardini with 16 arms, utsav murti of Krishna, Durga, the ferocious Periyachi Amman with eight arms, Nataraj, Navagraha, Vishwanatha Linga, Vishalakshi, Chandikeshwara and Ram-Sita-Lakshman-Hanuman are all located in this temple. 

The idols of Bhairav, Naga and Idumban are located in various sections of the temple. 

Nardana Ganapati, Yoga Dakshinamurti, Vaishnavi, Dandayudhapani, Brahma Shasta, Vishnu Durga, Meenakshi, Kantimati, Lingodbhava and Brahma are found as the niche idols on the walls around the sanctum and other few shrines.
