At-home workouts with Olympic skier Charlie Guest

Who says you need to go to the gym to get a good workout? Just follow these at-home exercises from GB Snowsport Ambassador and Olympic skier Charlie Guest – no membership or fancy equipment needed.

What you’ll need

• Weights or bottles filled with water.
• A strong plastic bag or rucksack.
• A sturdy chair that won’t slip.
• Space to lie down – like an exercise mat, carpet or grass.

What to do

There are two sets of exercises, with four exercises in each set. Charlie recommends repeating each set four times to really get your heart rate up and work your muscles.

Start with a 5-minute warm-up – like jogging on the spot or running around your garden – then get stuck into the first set.

Set 1

Exercise 1: Hip thrusters (15 reps on each leg)
Exercise 2: Skater hops (10 reps)
Exercise 3: Plank pull-throughs (10 reps each way)
Exercise 4: Leg raises (20 reps)

Repeat this set four times, with a 30-second break between each set.

Set 2

Exercise 1: Squat jumps (10 reps)
Exercise 2: Side lunges (5 reps on each leg)
Exercise 3: V sit rolls (10 reps)
Exercise 4: Straight leg deadlifts (15 reps on each leg)

Repeat this set four times, with a 30-second break between each set.
