From Sea To Sky – Canada’s Highway To Powder Heaven

Did you know that you can drive from Vancouver to Whistler? The route is known as the ‘Sea to Sky Highway’ and it’s an incredible way to see the best of Alberta – well worth adding a couple of nights in Vancouver onto your trip so you can squeeze it in.

The first part of the journey takes you along the shore and into the coast mountains of Vancouver. From there, you’ll delve through deep green rainforest islands and up through the beautiful, ever-rising scenery before reaching Whistler’s spectacular winter scenery. There are plenty of sight-seeing opportunities on the way, too: head to Whytecliff Park to catch stunning views of the ocean, take in the history of Vancouver in Lions Bay, or visit Shannon Falls – the third-highest waterfall in British Columbia.

Whistler

Whistler is without a doubt one of the world’s greatest ski destinations. Combine that with the typical fun and friendly Canadian attitude, and we promise you’re onto a good thing. There’s everything you’d want and more in Whistler, including a massive ski area, amazing snow record, superb après, and top quality hotels. There’s something truly special about Whistler that it’s difficult to put your finger on; if you’ve been before you’ll know all about it – if you haven’t, it’s time to go and discover it for yourself.

Vancouver

If you fancy some post-skiing city vibes, don’t miss out on a pit-stop in Vancouver. As well as plenty of shopping, some seriously not-to-be-missed dining opportunities and tons of activities, you can also experience the gorgeous ocean, rainforests and mountains that make Canada so wonderfully diverse.

Where to stay

Our favourite place to stay in Whistler and Vancouver is of course the Fairmont. In Whistler the Fairmont Chateau Hotel sits at the base of Blackcomb Mountain and is one of the most prestigious luxury hotels in Whistler. With ski-in, ski-out and a heated outdoor pool and hot tub overlooking the mountain and a 5 minute walk into Whistler Village centre – we couldn’t ask for a more perfect place to return to after an exhilarating day of skiing. It’s also where you’d stay in Vancouver – get luxury at both ends of your stay – at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
