Pinner Quarry Stone Mines

Situated near the western side of Limey Water valley, located north
near the village of Crawshaw Booth. The Quarry is found at the top of Pinner Lane. The main access point is about 5min walk from Pinner Lane and across a dirt track.  There are a series of eight mine entrances, which open into a series of extensive underground galleries, which are secured by unfeasibly impenetrable steel gates. However, one of the entrance points leads to a gallery of mines, which I believe a few of the tunnels extend for 2.5 kilometres. Butterworth and brooks of Crawshaw Hall opened the quarry around 1840; Richard Wyld operated  the quarry at a later date.
